ECC Day 274: “Mental Health Awareness”
I’m proud that mental health is becoming more regularly discussed in our society. Thank you to everyone leading the charge to make this happen. In my opinion, it shall be discussed just as frequently as physical health. It’s all intertwined. As @chancellor.may mentions in this May column, “May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness and help break the stigmas about one of society’s most pressing issues...we’re all touched by mental health issues in our communities, especially in terms of education, public safety and housing.” During my 6 years as a School Counselor, mental health challenges have been at the forefront of my mind, as many of my students, their family members, myself and my family members cope/overcome/struggle with mental health challenges. Half of the money raised through the ECC’s @gofundme will be donated to improve access to K-12 school-based mental health services for students in Davis. www.educatorcc.com #ChipInForEducation
