Have I mentioned lately...?

ECC Day 361: “Have I mentioned lately...?” Have I mentioned lately that: *I thank every educator who has ever put in the heart work for young people? *I thank YOU so much for your support of me & helping me achieve my goals of the ECC!? *My love for @chipotle runs deep, & this true love will last longer than 15 years. <3 *I’m STOKED to soon no longer post on social media daily, and have some time back to be more present in my life...and less time behind a screen?! **Now watch

Unconventional Solutions

ECC Day 358: “Unconventional Solutions” Opportunities to practice outside of the box thinking, solution- & action-focused behavior, flexibility & adaptability continue to present themselves as we reach the first day of school & the tail end of the ECC (8/28). In unfortunate, unideal circumstances, we can choose to be & remain in a state of anger, disappointment, bitterness & discouragement or, we can use those strong emotions to propel us forward to the next opportunity with

Flexing the Adaptability

ECC Day 357: “Flexing the Adaptability” Flexibility & adaptability shall be named in all job descriptions ever created; in my example specifically, education. Educators occasionally move classrooms/offices throughout their years, have new students, new circumstances to learn & grow from, ever-changing policies, procedures, curriculum, et cetera, that require various degrees of flexibility & adaptability. Remember your why, educators. Remember your why! It’s worth it...unless

Panda for Life

ECC Day 354: “Panda for Life!” I’m stoked to dive into my 6th year as a Panda at DVCA Jr. High School! Our grades 7-12 team & Project Based Learning (PBL) program are one-of-a-kind! I love & am proud to be part of the DVCA family & community, which is why it’s an integral part of the Educator Chipotle Challenge (ECC). From interviewing past & present students & educators, to fundraising money to support our educators with supplies they need to serve our students. While the EC

From Imagination to Purpose

ECC Day 351: “From Imagination to Purpose” A few days before the end of his Freshman year, Coen invited me to purchase his self-published book, “King’s Tales.” I’m so impressed with & proud of you, Coen! It was great to learn more of the imagination process & experiences that led up to this creation. It’s evidence of your point, “I can make almost anything with a point of reference.” You & your brother created a beautiful book; I enjoyed reading “King’s Tales.” In an Educator

Looking for time like...

ECC Day 350!! “Looking for time like...” Summertime, where’d ya go? Oh yeah, we lived it; we experienced/still experiencing it. We enjoyed & are making the most of it. We are taking in every chip left of summertime before another ROCKIN’ SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS! It’s been fun seeing some of my kids - out & about, at school, grad parties. Love y’all! Educator Chipotle Challenge (ECC), heyyyy! It’s not over until it’s over, but dang, the challenge is almost over; in a solid 15 days

Human Hug VS. Virtual Hug

ECC Day 349: “Human Hug VS. Virtual Hug” Tonight, I connected & recorded an Educator Shout Out Interview with a close friend & educator colleague, Gretchen. One theme of our conversation: While showing empathy & care over a text has a time & place, virtual communication doesn’t have the same affect as sitting across from that person, to make eye contact & share that compassion & truly feel connected. Many of us, greatly including our youth, are attached to a virtual reality t

Be Someone They Want to Join

ECC Day 348: “Be Someone They Want to Join” I will continue to stand, speak, & act up (positively) for what I believe in. Priorities on that list of what I care about & will fight/advocate for include: •Humanity’s well-being & safety •Human rights (EVERY HUMAN!) •Environment’s well-being •Mental health •Education, educators, students (resources, well-being, improvement, relationships, compensation, etc.) •Gun control The list goes on. Please consider what you care about, and

Behind The Images

ECC Day 347: “Behind The Images” My heart feels heavier than usual today. I discovered on social media that a person I know of from Portland died. When I lived there, was in her presence, & from what I’ve seen on social media since I moved, she lived & loved on a grand scale; she was outgoing, vivacious, adventurous, & cared a lot about people in her life. This is a reminder that what we see on social media does not fully reflect someone’s internal & external story & reality.

Make Time!

ECC Day 346: “Make Time!” Make time for: •yourself. •people who are important to you. •people who enhance your life. •people who reciprocate the effort to make time for you, as long as the above applies. •doing what feels right for you & your life. •priorities you “wish you had time for.” Find a way to make it happen. I believe in you! Start now! Less than 19 whole days to #ChipInForEducation by donating to the ECC Fundraiser @gofundme OR Taco #1 & 2) black

This is one of the last big efforts to reach Ellen, to #GetMsEbbeOnYourShow & share the ECC with you & viewers! Let’s rally together to support educators, stu

Aaand, Break!

ECC Day 340: “Aaaand, Break!” @chipotle steppin’ in this AM for brekky; egg & ‘cado have the morning off. No, Chip isn’t open until 10:45AM; I bought this meal last night. It’s ALMOST as fresh tasting the next day. I’m also setting up my day for options at lunch and dinner with friends. While many of them enjoy Chipotle, none of them are eating it every day for a year; they are cheering me on as IIII do that. Be kind, have fun, and laugh a lot today! 25 DaYs To #ChipInForEduc

ECC Day 338: “BE PRESENT” In her Educator Shout Out Interview, Amaralyn encourages us, educators, to ensure our students know we support and care for them, and we are there for them. Being present and getting to know our students beyond academics goes along way. Educator/student relationships are key, and have a lasting impact in many ways. Thank you, Amaralyn, for being part of the ECC! Stay tuned to ECC @youtube for her ESOI! 27 DAYS TO #ChipInForEducation by donating to th

Touchdown for Education

ECC Day 337: “Touchdown for Education” Patton ( @__patton58__ )& I had a great time recording his Educator Shout Out Interview! I’m proud of you and your growth; I am excited to see what’s ahead for you as you continue embracing the power & theory of “yes!” Keep growing, leaning into discomfort, learning about yourself & how to effectively communicate & listen to/with others. Patton, thank you for supporting the ECC since the beginning. I agree with you, “it’s for a great cau

A Kid’s Meal, Please

ECC Day 336: “A Kid’s Meal, Please” Holly was excited about her first @chipotle “kid’s meal;” she is a fan! After the ECC, I shall try a “kid’s meal.” I appreciate smaller things like forks, spoons, Tupperware, my niece & nephews’ lil’ fingers, toes, & nose when they were babies. How cute is that chip bag?! I wear “kid’s sized” shoes. Kids/young folks are awesome! Not everything labeled for “kids” or “adults” is exclusively for one or the other. You want to order a “kid’s mea

ECC Day 335 (!!!!): “The 30-Day Countdown Begins!” I’ve crushed the Educator Chipotle Challenge (ECC) for over 11 months; I have one month to go! “Pain Pushes Until the Vision Pulls”

ECC Day 333: “Pain Pushes Until the Vision Pulls” - @michaelbbeckwith (shared w/me by Raul Zamora) This concept can relate to many aspects of our lives, & many types of challenges/problems we experience. Those challenges/problems can feel intense, painful, insurmountable, & cause us to feel stuck. “Your potential is ALWAYS bigger than the problem.” Hang on & keep moving forward, because you may be closer than you think to the bridge/tipping point where the “vision of possibil

“Challenge Yourself” - Brian

ECC Day 332: “Challenge Yourself” @b47998 Brian crushed his Educator Shout Out Interview, AND that chicken burrito! He talks about challenging himself to grow; “you never know what you can achieve until you try...try...try again.” School is fun for Brian! Stay tuned on ECC @youtube to hear why he enjoys it!
