Origin of Action

ECC Day 206: bowl with 1/2 white, 1/2 brown rice, chicken, mild, corn, sour cream, lettuce.

«»On 1/17/15, one of my besties, Kael ( @kaeljosephclark ), challenged me to eat Chipotle once a day for one year, because he knows I love it. He was serious but not married to the idea.

«»I accepted this challenge and thought, ‘how can I make it about more than just eating Chipotle-to give back to educators who give so much to students?’

«»I felt the need for educators to know they are making a difference. They are valued and supported.

«»As a School Counselor, I know firsthand that there’s a need for increased access to school-based mental, social, emotional health and well-being services/training for students in K-12 schools.

«»From Kael’s challenge to my passionate desire to support educators and young people, the Educator Chipotle Challenge (ECC) was created. Check out Kael’s Educator Shout Out Interview on ECC’s @youtube channel or www.educatorcc.com for more of its story.

The ECC’s purpose:

•Fulfill Kael’s 365 day Chipotle Challenge;

•Highlight stories of educators’ positive impact through video interviews;

•Fundraise $100,000—half goes to purchase supplies & materials to directly gift my fellow educators at Da Vinci Charter Academy, and half will be donated to an organization that provides mental health services for K-12 students in Davis, CA. #ChipInForEducation @gofundme OR www.educatorcc.com

«»This quote doesn’t get old: “You could make a wish...or you could make it happen.” ECC=case & point

«»”Yes, we do need hope. Of course we do. But the one thing we need more than hope is action. Instead of looking for hope, look for action. Once we start to act, hope is everywhere.” -Greta Thunberg ( @gretathunberg @ted ) ECC=case & point

«»Take action with me. Donate. Tag. Repost.

«»3/29=interview @v101fm - thanks, @bigalsams
